😖 Spanish Guide To Aches and Relief

We hope you’re feeling well enough for a Spanish lesson about not feeling so well!

Hola 👋

We hope you’re feeling well enough for a Spanish lesson about not feeling so well!

Answers:

(1) “dolor” (ache)

"Dolor de cabeza" means "headache" in English. Similarly, a stomach ache is “dolor de estómago”, a back ache is “dolor de espalda”, and a toothache is “dolor de muelas”.

Since we’re talking about a headache here, if it’s a bad one with sensitivity to light or nausea, it might be “una migraña”, or a migraine.

(2) “alivio” (relief)

“Alivio” is a good word to describe the relief you may feel when you become less worried, or experiencing a break from some sort of discomfort.

Another word that would work here is "tranquilidad" which means "tranquility" or "peace of mind" in English. If "Qué tranquilidad" were used in place of "Qué alivio", it would convey a similar sentiment. It would mean "What a peace of mind" or "That's reassuring".
